Introducing...Chickens!!!

A day late and a dollar short, but better late than never, right?
The ladies:

That's Wrench (the white one), Clusterfox AKA Foxy (the Buff Orpington), and June (the reddish brown one and Jamie June's namesake).

I got them on Saturday. They are all 2-3 years old so their egg production has started to slow and their previous family wanted to replace them with more productive chickens, so they've come to Cherry's retirement home for old hens.

Foxy is the youngest, she's missing some feathers because she was the object of some unwanted attention from an aggressive rooster in her old flock, so she's safer and happier with us. Her feathers will grow back with time.

Wrench is the bravest and seems to be the alpha. Her old family initially thought she was a rooster until she started laying eggs! She was the first one to lay an egg in her new nest box.

Everyone is adjusting well, Foxy and June are currently duking it out to see who gets to be second in the pecking order. They take turns pushing each other off the highest perch.

The Bus hissed at the chickens once, but now he ignores them completely. Analog is terrified of them and is scared to go in the screened in porch now. I hope she gets used to them soon!
